2010年10月10日（日）県立みよし公園にて、地区大会が開催されました。
三次の地で初めての地区大会開催でした。グループ12の会員は全員登録、本会議当日もグループ12のロータリアン全員参加で、ロータリアンの皆さんにはとても思い出に残る地区大会であったと思います。

8月21日（土）第30回よいとこ祭りのパレードに初参加しました。
お揃いの法被を新調し、また、庄原ロータリークラブの事業活動の写真入りうちわを作成し、沿道の市民の皆さんに配り、庄原ロータリークラブのPRに努めました。

2009〜2010年度広報委員会からのご挨拶
この一年間広報委員会として活動してみたい項目はいくつかありましたが、ホームページを広報の手段として使える様にしたのが唯一の活動となりました。何とか動き出しましたので、一人でも多くの方にアクセスして頂き、庄原ロータリークラブを知って頂くことができれば幸いに思います。

フラワー通り花壇の植栽
６月１１日（金）午前９時より、フラワー通り花壇の植替えをしました。パンジーに替えて今日植えたのは可愛いベゴニアです。
花壇も花壇の周りもとてもきれいになりました。ご協力大変ありがとうございました。

My favorite words
Soryo J.H.S. Horie Saki
I like Aida Mitsuo's words very much.
'It's all right if you stumble over something; because you are human.' I like this sentence the best because it makes me feel easy.
I've read or heard many good words before. But I've never heard such peaceful words.
Aida Mitsuo's words are special. They make our minds feel relieved. In other words they are like a magic.
They encourage me even if I get a bad grade on the test or if I lose confidence. They are the words that make me have a hundred-and-eighty degree change in my way of thinking.
little by little, My way of thinking has been changing since I met his words. I thought his words were great.
A word can sometimes hurt someone, but sometimes it can encourage us and change our lives. His words have encouraged me a lot.
I hope I can think in the way that Aida Mitsuo does.

私は，相田みつをの言葉がとても好きです。
「つまづいたっていいじゃないか 人間だもの」が一番好きです。とても安心します。
私はこれまでたくさんの言葉を見たり聞いたりしてきましたが，こんなに安心した言葉は初めてです。
相田みつをの言葉は，人の心を安心させる，そんな魔法のような言葉です。
テストで悪い点をとった時や，自分に自信がない時はげまされます。私の考え方を１８０度変えてくれる，そんな言葉です。
私は彼の言葉に出会ってから少しずつ自分の考え方が変わってきました。
言葉の力はすごいと思いました。言葉は時には人を傷つけることもありますが，人に勇気を与えたり，人の人生を大きく変えることがあります。彼の言葉は，私にたくさんの勇気を与えてくれました。
私も相田みつをのような考え方ができたらいいと思います。

My Dream

Hello everyone. I want to share with you some of my experiences
that have influenced my thoughts about the future and about myself. I
am thinking of being a doctor in the future.
The first time I thought about the future was when I was nine years
old. My grandmother suddenly died of heart failure. Her sudden
death was a terrible shock to me. I was so scared of death.
The second time I feared death was just last year. My
grandmother's sister had a stroke and was hospitalized. My mother
and I went to the hospital to see her. Unfortunately, she no longer
looked like what she had before. I felt so frightened that I did not
feel like visiting her again. A few months later, I heard of her death. It is terrible and sad that people suffering from disease turn into a mere shadow of their former selves.
Recently, through books and the TV I came to learn of people
involved in medicine. I read a story about a female doctor who
worked as a member of Doctors Without Boarders. She worked in a war-torn developing country. Without sufficient medical equipment,
she tried her best to treat a lot of patients. I was greatly moved by
her hard work and I admired her.
Now I dream of becoming a doctor like her and helping people who
suffer from illness, though I won't be as active worldwide as she was.
I know it's difficult to be a doctor. I know it's difficult to help
people suffering from illness. But I can't forget the deaths of my
grandmother and her sister.
I should study hard and overcome the difficulties of becoming a
doctor. I want to learn a lot of things and deepen my knowledge. I
want to be a doctor who relieves people from pain and cares for the
sick. This is my dream.

医師になることは，とても難しいです。苦しむ人々を救うことも，簡単なことではありません。しかし私は，祖母や祖母の姉のことを忘れずに，課題を乗り越えたいと思っています。医師になるために，これから多くのことを深く学んでいきたいと思います。そして，患者さんに安心感を与え，患者さんのために尽くせる医師になりたいです。

My mother

My mother’s right side is paralyzed. During my birth she suffered a complication and lost function in her right arm and leg. She can’ｔ use her right arm or leg
Well, so she walks slowly. She has a hard time going up and down the stairs. She
originaly had no handicap. Just after my birth she couldn’t do the housework well,
but now she can drive a car by herself. I think she is a great person.
When I was years old, I watched a video. It was my sister’s sports day.
she is 10years older than me, so I didn’t know about it. My mother was running in
the video. I saw her running for the first time in my life.
“Mom, you are running!” I told her.
“ Yes, I could run before.” She answered with a smile.
I didn’t mind it then.
One day my mother said, “ I can do anything because you all are with me. If I do something with you all, I can enjoy myself. This is real happiness for me.”Again
I think she is great. She doesn’t suffer from inconvenience, but she tried very hard.
I will support her in place of her right arm and leg in the future.

僕の母は右手足が不自由だ。僕が生まれる時，僕の命と引き換えに右手足の自由を奪われたのだ。母は右手足がうまく使えないので，歩くペースも速くない。階段の上り下りも、とてもつらそうだ。母の右手足が不自由なのは生まれつきではなかったので，昔は，家事などでも失敗をしていたそうだ。しかし，今では車の運転できるまで回復している。そんな母を僕はすごいと思う。僕は保育所のころ，ある一本のビデオを見た。それは，僕の姉の運動会だった。姉は僕と１０歳も離れているからその運動会をぼくは知らない。そのビデオの中で母は走っていた。走っている母を初めて見た。
「母さん，はしっとるじゃん。」
そのころ何も知らない僕は母に聞いた。
「そうよ。昔ははしっとったんよ。」
と笑顔で答えてくれた。そのころは，何もわからない僕はそうなんかとしか思わなかった。最近，母は「今，私が元気に色んなことができるのはみんながおるけえよ。みんなと一緒にやれば，色んなことが楽しくやれるんよ。それが本当の幸せかね。」と言っていた。あらためて母はすごいと思った。不自由を苦にせず，がんばっていてすごく強いと思った。僕は，僕の命と引き換えに自由を奪われた母の右手，右足になってあげたい。

第６回中学生による英語スピーチ大会開催
６月６日（日）第６回中学生による英語スピーチ大会が開催され、１３名の生徒が素晴らしいスピーチをしてくれました。内容もとても素晴らしく感動的でした。市内在住のALTの先生による厳正な審査の結果、以下の３名が最優秀賞に選ばれました。
